Ultera Systems Inc. teams up with DIGISTOR to bring high-speed Virtual Tape solutions to AustraliaPartnership helps Aussie SMB/SME businesses backup data safely and quickly on Virtual Tape using low cost disk arrays

【LAS VEGAS - NAB 2004 - April 19, 2004】

Ultera Systems Inc. and DIGISTOR Pty Ltd have teamed up to provide Australian businesses with a Virtual Tape Controller device that enables low cost backup to disk and automatic archival to physical tape device.

DIGISTOR Pty Ltd will represent Ultera Systems product range in the A/NZ region and will provide cost effective disk based backup solutions that will take full advantage of customers existing investment in tape backup software and hardware infrastructure.

Based on Ultera Systems new Mirage VTC, DIGISTOR can now provide plug & play disk based backup solutions compatible with virtually any operating system and backup environment.

"Until now, the entry into disk based backup solutions has been complex or cost prohibitive or both" said Andrew Mooney, DIGISTOR Managing Director. "Today, with businesses running 24x7 operations, the need for faster backup and restore capabilities is critical. However, having to double your current storage infrastructure investment to achieve this is ridiculous. With an Ultera Systems based Mirage VTC solution that is no longer the case."

"Our partnership with Ultera allows us to combine our other products and services to provide the Australian market with turn-key, disk based backup solutions that require no additional resources or training. Our customers simply keep on doing what they have been doing but now with much faster backup and virtually instant restore capabilities" Mooney said.

"We are seeing a huge demand for disk based backup solutions in our region. To be able to work with Ultera to provide a virtually transparent solution is a huge plus for our customers who are struggling with their backup windows?he added.
